An interesting read on Russia.
The particular focus is on how Putin has used national pride with respect
to WW2, engended by selective memory, to rally his nation through tumultuous economic
times. To that end, it has catered to
the narrative that Ukraine and Crimea are historically Russian and should be
treated by the West as part of Russia’s sphere of influence.
